The Butterfly Valve Body is the core pressure-bearing component of the butterfly valve, providing a solid foundation for fluid control. Pressure bearing principle

As the pressure-bearing body of the valve, the valve body bears the pressure of the medium in the pipeline through reasonable wall thickness design and material mechanical properties, evenly disperses the pressure, and prevents the valve body from deformation or rupture.

Sealing matching mechanism

The valve seat inside the valve body fits tightly with the valve plate. When the valve is closed, the valve plate squeezes the valve seat, and forms a sealing surface by elastic deformation of the sealing material or precision machining of the metal surface to block the flow of the medium.

Fluid guiding function

The internal shape of the valve body guides the flow direction of the medium, allowing the medium to pass through the valve smoothly, reducing the generation of eddy currents and turbulence, reducing the erosion and wear of the fluid on the valve body and valve plate, and extending the service life of the valve.

Execution linkage transmission

The valve body provides installation support for components such as the valve stem and actuator. When the actuator (electric, pneumatic, manual) drives the valve stem to rotate, the valve body ensures stable transmission of force and drives the valve plate to achieve opening, closing or adjustment.

1. How to determine the pressure rating of the butterfly valve body? ​
According to the design pressure of the pipeline system, common pressure ratings include PN10, PN16, Class150, etc. If high-pressure applications are required, thickened valve bodies or special pressure-resistant materials can be customized.

2. What media are suitable for valve bodies of different materials? ​

Ductile iron valve bodies are suitable for ordinary media such as water and air; stainless steel valve bodies are suitable for corrosive media and food-grade fluids; engineering plastic valve bodies are suitable for weak acids, weak alkalis and pure fluids. The specific chemical properties and temperature of the media need to be referred to. ​
 

3. What are the requirements for the installation method of the valve body? ​
The wafer-type valve body needs to be installed between two flanges, and the bolts must be tightened evenly; the flange-type valve body needs to be used in pairs with flanges of corresponding specifications; when installing the welded valve body, attention should be paid to the welding process to avoid deformation of the valve body due to high temperature. ​
 

4. How to judge whether the valve body is leaking? ​
It can be judged by listening to the sound (whether there is abnormal airflow sound), observing whether there is medium leakage outside, and using a gas detector. If the sealing surface is worn or the valve body has cracks, it needs to be repaired or replaced in time.
 

5. What is the service life of the valve body? ​
Under normal working conditions, the service life of the valve body can reach 8-15 years, but it is actually affected by factors such as medium corrosiveness, frequency of use, and maintenance. Regular inspection and maintenance can effectively extend its life.

6. Can non-standard size valve bodies be customized? ​

Customized services are supported. Non-standard size valve bodies can be designed and produced according to parameters such as pipeline inner diameter, pressure, and temperature, but detailed technical requirements and drawings must be provided, and the production cycle will be extended accordingly.
