Working principle of electric valve actuator & Debugging method of electric valve actuator

Top 10 Electric Ball Valve Manufacturers in The World

The electric valve actuator is the driving device of the electric valve, which is used to directly control the delivery amount of the material or energy medium being adjusted. It adjusts the output shaft by receiving DC current as the control and feedback signal to open to the corresponding opening, thereby completing the regulation function of the system. After the electric valve actuator is installed, the torque controller, stroke controller, and opening indicator need to be debugged. The following is an introduction to the debugging method of the electric valve actuator. Let's take a look.

What is an electric valve actuator?

The electric valve actuator, also known as the valve electric device, is an actuator that uses electricity as energy in the control system. It receives electrical signals from regulating instruments, etc., changes the control amount according to the size of the signal, and changes the material amount or energy of the input or output control object to achieve the purpose of automatic regulation. There are many types, such as multi-turn, partial-turn, straight-through, and angle-through.

Working principle of electric valve actuator

The electric valve actuator is an important part of the automatic regulation system. It directly controls the delivery amount of the material or energy medium to be regulated according to the command of the regulator. Its working principle is:
The electric valve actuator uses DC current as the control and feedback signal. When the upper instrument or computer sends a control signal, the electric actuator moves in proportion to the signal size, opens the valve or damper to the corresponding opening through the output shaft, and feeds the system opening signal back to the control room, thereby completing the regulation function of the system.

Debugging method of electric valve actuator

The electric valve actuator must debug the torque controller, stroke controller and opening indicator separately before it can be used. The specific debugging method is:

1. Before debugging, check whether the potentiometer on the opening indicator has been disengaged (just loosen the set screw of the gear on the potentiometer shaft) to prevent damage; check the rotation direction of the motor and whether the control circuit of the electric valve actuator is correct to prevent the motor from losing control.

2. After the inspection is completed and it is confirmed that there is no fault, it can be installed. First, move the gear to the required position of the number of circles, then close the valve, turn the closing indicator disk to align the closing direction mark with the pointer, clamp the potentiometer shaft with pliers, face the degree disk, turn the potentiometer shaft counterclockwise to the terminal position, and then tighten the set screw of the potentiometer gear.

3. Operate the valve to the fully open position, keep the closing direction dial still, turn the opening indicator disk to align the opening direction mark with the pointer, check the flash light, the red light flashes during the valve opening process, and the red light is on when it is fully open; the green light flashes during the valve closing process, and the green light is on when it is closed, and the debugging is completed.
